I agree with Draft Policy Direction 21, as protecting and enhancing arts and culture is essential for local identity and economic growth. The focus on safeguarding cultural, tourism, and leisure facilities is vital for preserving the heritage and character of South Warwickshire. However, the policy should ensure greater support for local arts organisations, particularly those outside major towns, to promote community-driven initiatives. The Agent of Change principle is a necessary safeguard, but it must be applied consistently to prevent new developments from negatively impacting cultural venues. This approach should be backed by adequate funding and resources to sustain cultural projects.
