Local Councils have not done a very good job so far. For example, look at the state of the main shopping streets in Leamington. Contractors employed to replace pavements some years ago, (the disruption causing substantial loss of trade to local businesses), were awful. Almost immediately the resurfaced areas failed resulting in trip hazards and deep puddles. Leamington Town Council blamed WDC but neither did anything about it. High Street traders in general are suffering right now but locally they are hampered by the run down appearance of the streets and parking meters that are out of action.
