1. This is Green Belt and should be protected - apart from the natural beauty, the area is used daily by local people for recreation. Other non-Green Belt areas should be used before this is even considered.
2. Traffic will increase as there is no local work / industry of any significance, therefore the congested road network will be added to. Access from Offchurch Road will be limited and dangerous.
3. The field behind Rugby Road has historically been left fallow to mitigate flooding of the fields from local springs - drainage would be a major issue for this site.

I DISAGREE with SGO5's inclusion as a preferred options site as it is part of the West Midlands Greenbelt which protects the separation between Lillington and Cubbington allowing them to maintain their individual village character and prevent them from being absorbed into greater Leamington as suburbs, one of the key purposes of greenbelt.
This greenbelt land is home to diverse plant and wildlife species as well as good quality agricultural land which is increasingly important to safeguard British food production, and numerous public rights of way there, benefitting the mental and physical health of local residents.

There is an established flooding problem that affects my property and those around me. Building thousands of houses will make this worse and the traffic will overwhelm the local roads.

Cubbington needs to be kept separate as per the last time this was proposed - the Green Belt must stay.

Not happy with the HS2 destruction that has already happened - we need to preserve the land for agriculture and wildlife - there are badgers, foxes and many other wild animals that depend on the field for habitat.

The area between Lillington and Cubbington is in constant use as a valued green space and dog walking location for the local community. It's a haven for local wildlife and provides a buffer between the very special community of Cubbington village and the nearby town of Leamington Spa.

There has always been a flooding problem on the SG05 site. The sloping landscape & underground springs linked to the River Leam cause problems which Severn Trent have not completely solved. The present road network is unable to cope with volume of traffic from surrounding villages. People use these green spaces as an escape from the increased building of houses, business parks, retail parks etc during the last 23/30 years.
Impact & damage to lanscape & disruption to wildlife from HS2 in this area is enough to consider to stop damaging it more.

There should not be any development on the Green Belt.
Cubbington is a special village and was mentioned in the Doomsday Book. It should not be merged into Lillington and Leamington.
There will be not enough access to GP surgeries.
There will not be enough access to hospitals.
There will not be enough school places. The local schools are already at capacity and have no space for development.
The increase in traffic will create more wear and tear on the roads, cause longer delays getting into Leamington and put more strain on parking facilities in Leamington.

Whilst not opposed to development East of Lillington I would request a ful highway and travel impact study be undertaken first. Any development in this location is likely to add to traffic through Offchurch as the main route to the Fosse and M40 at Gaydon.
If this location is confirmed for development it should be dependent on a bypass for Offchurch. The village roads are narrow and the river is prone to flood across the Welsh Road.

This is incredibly environmentally destructive! There is a desire to build more houses, but brownfield sites should be considered first. The area around Cubbington has already suffered environmental devastation as a result of HS2. This includes the felled 250-year old Cubbington Pear Tree, along with other signficant habitat loss and reduction in biodiversity. We should do what we can do protect green spaces as their destruction will make the battle against climate change even harder. The potential loss of footpaths and green spaces would deprive dog-walkers and families of important access to the countryside.

I oppose the South Warwickshire Local Plan to build houses on the SG05 site in North Leamington and Cubbington. Developing this greenbelt land would destroy vital wildlife habitats and worsen local flooding risks. The area’s infrastructure—roads, schools, and healthcare—is already overstretched, and additional housing would increase congestion and pressure on services. Poor public transport links would force residents to rely on cars, raising traffic and pollution levels. Moreover, there are suitable brownfield sites available that should be prioritized instead. In short, this plan would harm the environment, wildlife, and community wellbeing while ignoring more sustainable alternatives.

SG06 is a much more suitable location for a large development than SG05.
SG05 would not be suitable for a large development because it does not have good access to main roads. However, if necessary, a smaller development of up to perhaps 150 houses might be acceptable within SG05 with careful thought given to the traffic routes in/out to the B4453 and fitting in with existing housing. On a related note about this area, the area around the tower blocks is not particularly pleasant, so how can this be improved?

Leamington is already busting at the seams. The traffic is terrible and it takes ages to drive short distances. Too many bottle neck roads and no good roads to take you outside of the town. So many shops shut and no investment to improve the town which is now in disrepair. The shopping retail park is a nightmare you can’t even get in or out at busy times. The public transport is shocking - infrequent and expensive buses, not enough trains.

This is sloping land facing SE which separates Lillington and Cubbington. It has footpaths and is much valued for recreation. It is Green Belt and meets the purposes of including land in the Green Belt. Developing it for housing would effectively extend Leamington's built-up area to include Cubbington.

The construction of HS2 to the NE of Cubbington has already led to loss of valued local countryside. This would take away Cubbington's countryside on the other side of the village.
