Water sports participation is buoyant and key to leisure and tourism in the Districts. An outdoor water sport and recreation strategy to complement the playing pitch strategy is needed to accommodate the best use of green and blue spaces to deliver the most benefit to people and wildlife.
Playing fields, recreational grounds and playgrounds are valuable public facilities, usually managed by parish councils and volunteer-led management committees. The social value of outdoor play spaces and built facilities should be formally recognised and better supported across the Districts.

My daughter (who plays for Stratford Town Girls Under-15 Football) has had her matches cancelled more often than she has played over the course of this winter (traditionally the heart of the football season).
