Solar required a footprint which can be achieved by utilising areas such as the proposed park and ride, council car parks, council buildings, larger industrial units as part of their planning conditions.
Stop covering the countryside with them, it's unnesessary and destroying viable farmland.

Need to assist with mandating solar panels on existing buildings: example is Kenilworth Primary Schools obtained Solar for Schools support but could not install the panels because of the roof structures (asbestos on older building roofs). Another example is purpose built maisonettes require the landlords (normally separate ownerships) to co-operate.

All solar or wind farms should be for the benefit of the loc population first. It should also not be on land used for the production of food

The approach is not strong enough in the presumption that large scale renewable energy generation and storage is a public good.
Although phrased as initially supportive to sustainable energy, actually the conditions applied put it below other considerations.

I object to using farmland of any quality. It is a nonsense to allow such development when this country cannot produce even half the food it needs.

Wind and solar don't really work in the cold dark months when power is most needed. Meanwhile China (and others) open hundreds of new coal mines. We are just shooting ourselves in the foot.

Sustainable, green, renewable energy is necessary not just at the local level, but also globally. We absolutely must do our bit to help in this regard, and it would be categorically wrong to locally block a solution to the global problem of climate change. We need to do our part by building as many solar panels and wind turbines as possible in our area.

Whilst I support the principle of renewable generation and storage, but the development of solar farms must be spread across the whole of South Warwickshire and not concentrated in specific areas creating a cumulative factor and must not result in significant adverse impacts on the local environment, including landscape character and flooding issues. Support the proposals for increased community benefits in terms of profit sharing or proportion of community ownership or delivering local, social and community benefits. All new housing must have solar pv panels on their roofs. Support principle of wind energy but Warwickshire is not that windy!

We support PV solar on brownfield and lower-quality agricultural land (grades 3b-5). Energy storage should normally be co-located with renewables. Large buildings should also have rooftop PV - better than using agricultural or habitat land. Economy of scale brings more efficient construction, resource use and embedded carbon.

Land classification and agricultural output needs reconsidering for suitability for renewables. Land previously considered low grade is now well-yielding due to modern methods of agriculture. Perception that sheep can graze below solar is practically untrue. Used as a rebuttal to the loss of agricultural land, it is often stated the grass below can be grazed. However, in practice this is not done due to financial liability of damage placed on farmers by developers and the degradation of the nutritiousness of grass due to shading from the panels. It is disingenuous to say the two work hand in hand. Prioritise rooftops.

The loss of agricultural land to enormous solar panel farms has enormous visual impact for local residents as well as visitors and tourists who come to counties like Warwickshire to enjoy the rural views and historic settings. Vast solar sites covering many fields as at Newbold Pacey cause unacceptable negative visual impact as well as questionable effects on all wildlife there long term.

Too much farm land is being granted permission for solar farms. In the Ashorne area it will become an eyesore and reduce house prices. It should not be used as an excuse for farmers to change land use and make money.

Disagree with this policy. I do not want to see swathes of land with large Wind Turbines and Solar Panels. It will ruin the landscape forever.
In addition, National Grid need to provide a robust and stable network that has the capacity. I have explored Solar and Energy Storage on land i own with a large pylon only to be informed, we have capacity to take new solar energy but its unstable to connect to and that is if you can win over the locals for having a larger solar farm!

I support the development of large scale renewable energy. You mention that land used for renewable energy should be used to enhance biodiversity. I don't know how you can enforce this, but it seems so important that ways must be found. wildflowers growing around a solar farm are much more valuable to the environment than the monoculture deserts that many fields have been allowed to become

We need to support the nation's move towards a decarbonised electricity grid, and also at the same time electrify more things to reduce fossil fuel use. I do ask where point (f) has disappeared to in the draft policy? Is it missing or do the other points need to be relabelled?

Broadly agree - coastal areas appear to be more effective than inland - concern for hilly landscapes comprising Special Landscape Areas and therefore causing visual harm - needs to be balanced and therefore single masts may be more suitable
