I support the idea in principle, but it is crucial for Henley-in-Arden to retain its commercial spaces on the High Street to ensure the area remains viable and continues to serve the local community effectively, encompassing shops, social venues, and restaurants.

I agree but would like to see this policy strengthened to state that there will be a presumption against granting permission for the redevelopment of amenities such as public houses, allotments etc for housing or other uses not for community benefit.

It sounds sensible yet if too rigorously enforced it would inhibit farm diversification which is often what allows farmers to keep farming.

We need old suitable buildings in Kenilworth to provide Adult Education, a bigger clinic, another doctors surgery. THE OLD KENILWORTH SCHOOL BUILDINGS WOULD BE IDEAL, WITH AMPLE PARKING AND SPACE TO DEVELOP FURTHER PARKING AND FURTHER BUILDINGS, WHICH WOULD SAVE MONEY AND BE ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY FACILITIES TO LOCAL PEOPLE, WHICH WE ARE DESPERATE FOR. We also need a permanent banking hub.

It is vital to support community facilities and town and parish councils should be given the necessary support to enable them to do so. This is even more important to alleviate loneliness if people move into rural areas for housing

The emphasis on consultation with the Parish Council concerning facilities in rural areas is vital to ensure the views of the local community are taken into full consideration.

Its might also be worth including a clause that says unauthorised demolition or allowed decay of such community facilities will result in the council taking action against the owners. We don't want to see more stories about pubs being knocked down or left to rot in order to let developers try to force through change of use planning applications. We've seen this in Stratford with the several demolitions causing long term eyesores (the club on the corner of Arden St and Greenhill St, and the cinema on Windsor St).

In rural areas, there are limited bus services. Where those are provided, the timetables make for them being irregular and only short visits are possible. The provision of services is by commercial operators who may choose to remove them at a moment's notice. As a result the loss of a community facility and removal of bus services soon afterwards will only serve to the isolation of vulnerable persons and / or increase use of private cars.

Protection necessary. If lost, integrity and cohesion of rural communities will be severely damaged, threatening long term viability of communities.
